Futur Nostalgia having rocked my confinement and at the same time my year 2020, I couldn't help but imagine my version of Radical Optimism, especially after seeing Dua Lipa's recent photos.
To be honest for this project, I absolutely wanted to keep the retro vibe of Dua Lipa, but evolve the disco of Futur Nostalgia into a very Y2K aesthetic for Radical Optimism, surfing very softly on the frutiger aero trend in the same way.
Dua Lipa is an artist with a strong visual identity in my opinion, so it seemed appropriate to use an impactful and quickly identifiable typography for her name.
For the title of the album I chose a round typography referring to optimism, and the color yellow also recalling this idea.
The yellow is also present as a complement to the majority of blue of these pictures, it also brings balance to the whole image: CMY, complementing the cyan of the ocean and the maganta of Dua Lipa's hair.
